Description
Visually stunning 40-page full colour printed zine centred on the women musicians that punk rock produced, but spreading out to include revolutions in art, culture, politics and how generations of girls and women who continue playfully to reject what was expected of them.
Authors Vim Renault and Lene Cortina are two grown-up punk girls who have built up a sturdy following on Twitter and Instagram @punkgirldiaries and their blog punkgirldiaries.com. Like previous issues, the zine includes exclusive interviews with women from different eras and strands of punk and post-punk music.
As well as the fascinating interviews, the zine includes original art, well-written perspective and historical pieces and recycled 1970s Jackie magazine strips. It’s a work of art in itself, with each copy numbered by hand. Whether you’re fascinated by the punk era or remember it yourself, Blogzine 5 is a sparky, beautiful read, full of interesting detail and visual humour.
